There are several prophets that I believe to be profound, but I would have to say Prophet Hosea. Oftentimes God uses the life of a prophet to show his heart concerning a particular issue or concern. With Hosea God had him to marry Gomer to signify the relationship between the father himself and Israel. Israel, we know was a rebellious house and Gomer was very promiscuous. Hosea would continuously catch Gomer in acts of adultery, but he forgave time and time again just as God forgave Israel and the new Israel which is us.( Hosea 2:14-23) Hosea name means salvation and that was Gods purpose he wanted to save and restore Israel back to him. (Hosea 14:4-7) I don't know too many prophets in this dispensation who would take the task of marrying a known harlot so for me I must salute Hosea for his obedience.
