6-2 CULTS & WORLD RELIGION » Conversion and Discernment

Hope Khalil
Prior to any conversation or sharing the Word of God, I would have to ask the Holy Spirit for guidance on what to say and how to say it to this person. Then I would focus on the scripture that I needed to share. I would share John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me, then Galatians 1:8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed, and then 2 Corinthians 11:14â€15 And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light; therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness, because these passages confront false revelations, counterfeit miracles. The person’s behavior and beliefs are more than likely influenced by a spirit of deception, a spirit of pride, and a familiar spirit. There have been several people that I have met in my life who once served God, read the Bible, and knew the truth, but for whatever reason have pulled away from their prior faith. We must be grounded in the Word and ready for the opportunity to lead people to the truth.

Hope, thank you for sharing. I agree that we must always be ready to share the gospel and our faith. I like how you acknowledged that you would consult with God first. I personally have not known anyone to completely turn away from the faith, they may not go to church, but there is still an acknowledgement of God. Sometimes those conversations can be hard when trying to provide encouragement and motivation, so I can imagine we would definitely need the Lord and be strong in the knowledge of Him.

Hope, you are absolutely correct! Before we talk to anyone about returning to Christ, we must first seek help from Holy Spirit. Holy Spirit is our guide, standby and ever-present help. The Holy Spirit desires to help us in ministering to others. We must learn to rely on him and not ourselves when doing anything. The bible says in John 14: 26, that Holy Spirit teaches us all things and brings everything back to ourselves. Holy Spirit also reveals secrets and gives us strategy. He knows the best way to touch the heart of the individual. We must trust the leading of the Holy Spirit.

I enjoyed your response. I agree with you, we should always be led by the spirit of God and anything else is deception. Jesus is the only way to the father. I have met people too, who once served God. Due to hurt turned back to the world.
