6-2 CULTS & WORLD RELIGION » A Conversation & discernment

Kierra Burnett
I would first be lead by the Holy Spirit. As I always state to people I am not here to convert you, I am only here to tell you the goodness of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. My first scripture would be.
Don’t let anyone capture you with empty philosophies and high-sounding nonsense that come from human thinking and from the spiritual powers of this world, rather than from Christ. For in Christ lives all the fullness of God in a human body. So you also are complete through your union with Christ, who is the head over every ruler and authority.
‭‭Colossians‬ ‭2‬:‭8-10.
Let God’s curse fall on anyone, including us or even an angel from heaven, who preaches a different kind of Good News than the one we preached to you. I say again what we have said before: If anyone preaches any other Good News than the one you welcomed, let that person be cursed. Obviously, I’m not trying to win the approval of people, but of God. If pleasing people were my goal, I would not be Christ’s servant.
‭‭Galatians‬ ‭1:‭8‬-‭10‬.
On judgment day many will say to me, Lord! Lord! We prophesied in your name and cast out demons in your name and performed many miracles in your name. But I will reply, I never knew you. Get away from me, you who break God’s laws.
‭‭Matthew‬ 7:22-23.
The first scripture targets the spiritual captivity, the difference between Christ and spiritual forces and reveals the bondage. The second scripture exposes false visions and so called new truth. It also places Christ as the final authority. The last scripture pulls out that oh yes you can do a lot of good things but without the relationship with Chirst none will be known.
Spirit of Deception, Spirit of Pride, Spirit of Exploitation

Kierra, thank you for sharing your thoughts. I like how you acknowledge how you would start the conversation. I think that is very important. I also like the scripture and translation of Colossians 2:8-10. It really breaks it down and makes it presentable to share. I also liked how you shared how the scriptures tied in with the scenario.

Kierra, I love that you first acknowledged the Holy Spirit and clarified it is Holy Spirit and not we ourselves that convert people, but to be the messenger with the Good News of the Gospel! The scriptures you shared were very powerful and supported your response and convictions of the one true Gospel of Christ, the Word of God. You are right in that anything else outside of the Good News is powerless, limited, and a lie which will leave emptiness rather than the fullness of God. Thank you and God bless you!
