4-1 LIFE OF CHRIST » The Humanity of Christ - Prophecy Fulfilled -The Very Foundation and Cornerstone of Christianity

The humanity of Christ was and is essential because God’s plan to redeem mankind required a Savior who could fully identify with the human condition. God did not choose sacrifice or burnt offerings as the ultimate answer, but instead prepared a body so that Christ could come into the world as one of us. Jesus had to experience real human weakness, emotions, temptation, and suffering to stand in our place. The Bible says. Wherefore when he cometh into the world, he saith, sacrifice and offering thou wouldest not, but a body hast thou prepared me (Hebrews 10:5, KJV). Only by taking on flesh could Christ fulfill every prophecy and accomplish God’s will perfectly. His humanity made Him a relatable, understanding Savior that felt and feels what we feel.
Christ, being manifested in the flesh, was and is important because only, a truly human Savior could legally and spiritually die for humanity. God is eternal and cannot die, so He came in the form of a man to offer His life as the perfect sacrifice for sin. In Hebrews 2:14, KJV it reads Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same. Jesus also fulfilled the requirement of representing us before God because He was without spot or blemish, no sin. As the Bible says, For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin (Hebrews 4:15, KJV). His humanity makes us all aware that Jesus was willing to suffer in the flesh, bear stripes on his back, and lose every drop of blood from His body so we might have everlasting life. John 3:16, KJV says, For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

The way you stated this makes Jesus' humanity so real and easy to see Jesus had to experience real human weakness, emotions, temptation, and suffering to stand in our place. He had to become man to die for man.

Kristy HammondYou are absolutely correct Hope! Only by taking on flesh could Christ fulfill every prophecy and accomplish God's will perfectly. Jesus was the ultimate sacrifice!, There was nothing else acceptable. Hebrews 10: 8-10 says, You have neither desired nor taken pleasure in sacrifices and offerings and burnt offerings and sin offerings (these are offered according to the law), 9 then he added, Behold, I have come to do your will. He does away with the first in order to establish the second. 10 And by that will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.

Paula BinghamGood job Hope of describing how God did not use the practices of the world like burnt offerings to deliver us from our sins. Yes He gave his only begotten Son that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. (John 3:16) I don't think we truly understand the magnitude of what God gave us, we are truly blessed every day because Jesus humbled himself to be human like us. He was a walking testimony and because of His Word we better off today.

Vanessa HowellGreat point Hope. Jesus was the ultimate sacrifice, and his sacrifice ensured the existence of humanity forever. It took not only God but a perfect man to bring humanity back into right standing with God. Jesus is the reason everything exists and the reason we will continue to live forever.
