Acts 17:26 states, And He has made from one blood every nation of men to dwell on all the face of the earth, and has determined their preappointed times and the boundaries of their dwellings. This verse highlights that God is sovereign over history and geography, and these details are part of His divine plan.
In witnessing to the lost, being able to point to real events and places strengthens the believer’s testimony. 2 Peter 1:16 says, For we did not follow cunningly devised fables when we made known to you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of His majesty. The apostles’ testimony is rooted in real history and geography, which validates the truth of their message.
Furthermore, archaeological discoveries have confirmed many biblical locations and events, such as the walls of Jericho (Joshua 6) and the Pool of Bethesda (John 5:2), supporting the reliability of Scripture. This evidence can be persuasive when sharing the gospel with those who question the Bible’s authenticity.
By grounding our faith in the historical and geographical reality of Scripture, we can confidently share the truth of God’s word, knowing that it stands up to both spiritual and factual scrutiny.
