COURSE 1 - FOUNDATIONS OF BIBLICAL STUDIES » Discuss the importance of a relationship with the Holy Spirit to effectively interpret scriptures.

Nefertiti Jones
Having a relationship with Holy Spirit is a must. Sometimes we don't realize how much Holy Spirit take part in things in and around us and For unbelievers as well. As far as interpretation of the word of God, we have to understand that it's not an intellectual book but spiritual and we must handle it as such. Spirit to Spirit. In order to do that we must rely on holy spirit to work in us(eph 5:18) and understand that it was him who wrote it. 2 Peter 1:20-21. The men Of God was moved by the HolyGhost. Also Holy Spirit knows and searches all things even the depths of God as stated in 1Corinthians2:10. So it seems to me that Holy Spirit is the most qualified and very valuable to help us effectively interpret scriptures. Now we have received not the Spirit of the world but the spirit who is from God,that we might understand the things freely given to us by God. And we impart this in words not taught by human wisdom but taught by the spirit, interpreting spiritual truths to those who are spiritual 1 Corinth 2:12-13 esv

I agree having a relationship with the Holy Spirit is a must. Spirit to Spirit, yes. Not only do we need the Holy Spirit when it comes to reading and understanding the scriptures, we need Him in guiding our lives, making decisions and etc.
