COURSE 26 - SERMON PREPARATION » The impact of instruction being a preacher of the word.

2 Timothy 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that need not be ashamed rightly dividing of truth. Faithful men and women preaching Gods word can lead the flock into truth and deliverance. The minister who studies God word and lead by the Holy Spirit will share his word to others where they have understanding and knowledge and be able to apply it to life. A minister should live a life that models Christ to set an example for their flock. Preaching can be a form of worship that sets the atmosphere for Holy Spirit It brings correction from Gods word and reproof us with love. When the preacher is not aligning with Holy Spirit and speaking with the flock it will be a motivative speech and it is not filter through Holy Spirit minister have to be careful of speaking by themselves. Because everyone who comes to Gods house may not know his word.

2 commentsI really like the fact that you said a minister should live a life that models Christ. Although Christ is the ultimate example, we are expected to hearers AND doers of the word and especially the preacher. It is a way to encourage and exhort the word by striving to live by the example Christ set before us.

Vanessa HowellTawanna, I love that 2 Timothy 2:15 was used as your primary scripture to support your response. Any person that is called to become an instructor or preacher of God's Word must first be a student of the Word to be able to rightly divide God's Word. I agree with you, that in order for the flock or hearers of the Word, the teacher or preacher should be faithful men and women to be able to lead them into truth and deliverance. You also emphasized the importance of the leading of the Holy Spirit, not just for the preparation of the Word, but the clarity of the message so it will be applicable for the hearers' lives! May the Holy Spirit continue to guide you on your purposeful journey!
