COURSE 24 - THE ORDER OF FAMILY » The disadvantage of prioritizing ministerial duties before natural family responsibilities
I really enjoyed the video with Rob and Amy Rienow it brought back some memories for me when I was in my first marriage. My takeaway is, that it's true you have to have the Supernatural Power of God in our lives, in our heart, and in our home. We have to see our daily lives from a spiritual perspective. Another thing that I takeaway is our good intentions, and our will power doesn't get us anywhere, we have to have the Supernatural Power of God in our hearts and our home to turn our hearts to him. Know that children are people too.
I am in total agreement with you when it comes to creating a balance with both the family and the ministry. Yes, the family is our number one responsibility! 1 Timothy 3:5 the question arose For if a man knows not how to rule his own house, how shall he take care of the church of God? The way you explained that we are the first of everything to our children was such a great example of just how important it is to have a firm foundational relationship with each of our family members, especially our children. I was never blessed to have my own biological children but, God has given me hundreds upon hundreds of students /youths from Pre-K on up, who I have trained/taught in the way they should go and praying they will not depart from those life lessons! I loved that you chose Proverbs 22:6 to support your view on family first! The strong convictions throughout your response were so encouraging. Encouraging because you are that minister that looks not with the Natural Lense but the Spiritual Lense of the eye/heart! It is all about helping others! YES, YES, and YES! I must add you brought back a few memories of my time spent in the classroom when you said, Know that children are people to. I used to say to all of my students, parents, and colleagues, children are just smaller versions of you and me! They are little people needing guidance and direction! As adult believers we know to acknowledge the Lord and He will direct our paths, but children have not yet learned that, and it is up to us grown folks to teach them! Love what you had to share! God bless you and your grandchildren!
