Submission & Authority » Ordained Authority

Ordained authority are appointed leadership structures within the church. God has purposed leaders to lead and guide through teaching and shepherding (Ephesians 4:11-16). This ordained authority is in place to offer protection, structure, and order. Authority helps to prevent chaos ands confusion. Romans 13:1-2 says Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God. 2 Consequently, whoever rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves.
Authority also offers protection and help guide towards spiritual growth. (Hebrews 13:7). Authority also shows the divine order that God gives ro provide guidance and direction (I Corinthians 11:3). Ordained authority is needed to fulfill the gospel mission.

I like how Hebrew 13:17 says Obey those who rule over you, and be submissive, for they watch out for your souls, as those who must give account. Let them do so with joy and not with grief, for that would be unprofitable for you. Ordained authority is God's love to us.

Tawanna TabornKristy I agree that ordained authority is to be used provide structure and parameters for the church. All authority comes from God, it's not a title but given to the appointed by God. This is noted in the following passage, Jesus answered them and said, My doctrine is not Mine, but His who sent Me. 17 If anyone wills to do His will, he shall know concerning the doctrine, whether it is from God or whether I speak on My own authority. (John 7:16-17) God is the one who establishes and not submitting to His will is pure disobedience.
