COURSE 18 - MINISTRY GIFT OF PASTOR » Lack in the Administration of the Pastor in the local Church

Vanessa Howell
From what I've experienced I haven't seen a lot of churches recognize prophets as one of the five fold ministries and also that hell is real. The office of Pastor is to perfect meaning nurture and develop and also to edify meaning to build up the body of Christ Ephesians 4:12. Also according to Ephesian 4:15 the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies...causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love. Preaching only prosperity, as some local churches do, is not teaching the whole word and I have seen some churches do just that in efforts to collect a better offering. In Jeremiah 3:15 he tells us that the Lord will give us shepherds according to God's heart, who will feed you with knowledge and understanding. This knowledge and understanding is not limited to only one area of the Bible but the whole Word. Hell is real according to Psalms 55:15 as it talks about death and to let them go down alive into hell, for wickedness is in their dwelling and among them. Pastors should also teach about hell, wickedness and the consequences. It's not enough just to give but also our character is being judged by God, money isn't the key, it's what's in our hearts. Man judges the outer but God will weigh and judge the heart.

Ms. Vanessa, I admire the strong convictions you refer to throughout your response. You are 100 % correct that only preaching prosperity is not teaching the whole word. The Pastor must feed his flock with knowledge and understanding of God's Word. At times it is not what people want to hear (the walk of Faith and living according to God's Word). Prosperity on the other hand, people want to hear what God has for them ....in other words what is in it for them? (Not seeking God for wisdom or worshiping God ..but only blessings). As my grandmother used to say, people being greedy! This is unhealthy thinking for any believer. Your reference was on point, Jeremiah 3:15 explaining Pastors are the Shepherds who will feed us spiritually! By feeding us spiritually a pastor should teach his or her congregation that throughout the Bible God's promises and warnings are mentioned and to be taken seriously. God uses them to keep His children vigilant in the fight of Faith. We are found to be secure by how seriously we take all of the promises and all of the warnings. John 3:3-7 Jesus answered and said unto him,Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. If a person is not going to see the Kingdom of God there is only one other place he or she will be for eternity and that is Hell! People need to be shown the Truth, the Word of God in all of it goodness, wisdom, and warnings! Amen to your strong convictions to God's Word both promises and warnings! Hope
