COURSE 16 - GIFTS OF THE FATHER » Gift Least Utilized

Tawanna Taborn
I believe it to be the Gift of Prophecy is least utilized because it may be mis-understood and not excepted by some because lack of knowledge or fear of such a gift. The bible does share about false prophets Matthew 7:15-16 Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves. You will know them by their fruit.

Tawanna thanks for sharing your thoughts. The gift of prophecy was the second gift that I chose that is least utilized. I agree with your post that many may feel like they are misunderstood or those on the receiving end may struggle to believe. The Bible does instruct us to beware of false teachers and prophets. It does take having and understanding of the word to know about and believe in prophecy.

Ms. Tawanna, I agree with you that people fear the unknown and do not take the time to understand the function of this gift! The Gift of Prophecy is truly mis-understood and at times not accepted by other believers because lack of knowledge. We as believers must always test everything! We have to go back to the Word in order to do this as we wait upon the Holy Spirit to show us is this false or is this true. You mentioned Matthew 7:15-16 to beware of false prophets....in 1 Thessalonians 5:21 states, Test everything; hold fast what is good. In other words, we should carefully examine any prophetic message received and only accept what aligns with the teachings of the Bible. We as believers must live by example as well as teach the gifts and their functions so people will feel more comfortable exploring what the functions are and then reflecting on their life and see what gift or gifts they possess. All gifts, including the prophetic should be
exciting to realize you might have that particular gift. I pray that all believers will take the time to study the gifts as we are in this class to receive a full understanding and live /move in their purpose using the gifts given by God's Grace!
