COURSE 15 - GIFTS OF THE SPIRIT » Why are the Gifts of the Spirit of God necessary for the Modern Day Church?

These gifts are necessary to equip the believers to serve in the Kingdom of God. It's also necessary for the body of Christ to operate in these gifts not just the Pastors, or leaders, according to the word of God in Ephesians 4:11 that says, And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets, and some, evangelists, and some, pastors and teachers. This means there is work for all of us to do, whatever God called us to do everyone has to operate in the gifts of the Spirit. In 1 Corinthians 12:1 it says Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I would not have you ignorant, and in verse 4 like it is in our lesson this week the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal. God's divine power has given us all things that pertain to life and godliness through the knowledge of him according to his word in 2 Peter 1:3.

2 commentsAbsolutely Ms. Sandra! The gifts of the spirit are not just for the Apostle and Pastors, they are for everyone. The bible says in Romans 12:3 that For I say, through the grace given to me, to everyone who is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think soberly,. The gifts are to benefit others, not ourselves. We should get satisfaction by being used knowing that the Holy Spirit is real and powerful!

Ms. Sandra, I love the approach you used in your response! Yes, yes, and yes! These gifts are for ALL to receive to build the Kingdom of God! Can we build a home or church using only brick without the mortar? No! It takes all of the necessary materials to build anything! Why would God's Kingdom be any different? I also agree with the scripture of Ephesians 4:11 reads, He gave some, apostles; and some, prophets, and some, evangelists, and some, pastors and teachers. does not leave anyone out of working for God and His Kingdom! Thank you for your strong conviction of ALL PEOPLE are to operate in these gifts we were given! You are like the North Star, always constant and dependable in God's eyes. The Holy Spirit knows your heart is fully open and ready to receive the ALL He has for you! You said it best with the last scripture you shared with us! You shared God's divine power has given us ALL things that pertain to life and godliness through the knowledge of him according to his word in 2 Peter 1:3.
