COURSE 14 - SO YOU THINK YOU'RE CALLED » The Call of God

If someone were to ask me, what I believe to be the real proof of someone being called by God? I would begin by explaining the diverse ways one can be authentically called to the Five-Fold Ministry by Jesus and the power of the Holy Spirit! Firstly, one way one can be called is by hearing the voice of God! God uses His voice, directly as He did with Moses in Genesis 37:5-9 or even Isaiah, Paul, and Jeremiah. Secondly, a person can be called by also see visions / dreams or even visitations such as Joseph, Moses, and Gideon. Prophecies can also be given (which come through the power of the Holy Spirit) through a person, for example Timothy and Elisha. The Bible offers strong evidence of divine calling of the believers and their spiritual experiences, personal conviction, and the confirmation of others. As well as supported by several scriptures. Here are some key biblical scriptures that support the idea of a calling to the ministry: Romans 1:1 Paul, a servant of Christ Jesus, called to be an apostle and set apart for the gospel of God...Paul clearly identifies himself as called to the ministry. This shows that the calling is specific, purposeful, and directed by God for a particular role in His plan. 1 Corinthians 9:16
For when I preach the gospel, I cannot boast, since I am compelled to preach. Woe to me if I do not preach the gospel! This shows Paul's inner conviction and compulsion to preach the gospel. A divine calling often brings a sense of necessity or compulsion that one cannot ignore. Ephesians 4:11-12
So, Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up... This passage reveals that God appoints certain individuals for specific ministry roles to build up the church. The calling is not just for personal benefit, but for the edification of the community. The calling of God is truly special and unique for each believer that has been called! A believer, using myself as an example, knows in his or her spirit man, the moment they have been called into ministry. It is a next level experience you have an unmeasured amount of joy and the sense of responsibility that floods your spirit and soul, like no other. Jesus imparts the anointing upon us as He calls us, by the Power of the Holy Spirit to go forth and complete the charge we have been given....Go ye therefore into all the world......the Great Commission! God continue to strengthen us daily in order to do Your work! Amen

I totally agree with this statement because I have seen this realness in my own life. It definitely makes you feel deep emotions.

Kristy HammondThank you Hope for your through response on the different ways God can call believers with scripture to back it up! God is the one that calls us as Matthew 20:16 says So the last will be first, and the first last. For many are called, but few chosen. We cannot call ourselves because God assigned our calling before we were even formed in our mother's womb. So he appointed us to what HE wanted us to be to edify the Kingdom.
