COURSE 13 - FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT » The most frequently uncultivated fruit within the Body of Christ.

Paula Bingham
The most frequently uncultivated fruit within the Body of Christ, in my opinion, is Love. Love is the highest frequency anyone can have because God is love. The bible says in John 3:16 that for God so loved the word that He gave His only begotten son that whosoever believeth on Him, should not perish, but have everlasting life. God gave Love, we didn't deserve it or earn it. Jesus came to earth and was ridiculed, mocked, disrespected, and beaten; however, in return he gave Love. Most of us could never understand that type of love. It is unconditional and not based on whether or not we will receive it back. I believe that if most people within the Body of Christ learned how to truly love people the way that God loved people, we would have less judgement, gossip, contention, strife, anger, jealousy, and offense going on within the Body of Christ.

The bible says in 1 Corinthian 13: 4-7 that love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. If the Body of Christ could really grasp how to Love, I believe the church would be packed out because people would feel it. The bible says in Jeremiah 31:3 that it's with His lovingkindness that He hath drawn us. True love draws people, not drives them out of the door.

Paula, the response and how you described the unconditional love He displayed by laying down His life so that we, sinners, would not die but have everlasting life! John 3:16 to me is the message of unconditional no and that there is no greater love than a man lay down His life. He was human, flesh and bone, experiencing all of that pain, stripes upon His back so that we might be healed! He was and still is the model man of what true love really looks like! I agree that a person who has God, is or should be filled with the Spirit living in love because that is exactly what and who God is LOVE! You are spot on when you said that most of us could never understand that type of love. But after we read the scripture and learn more in depth, of who He is and His purpose for being sent to this earth we then begin to see the love that He is and begin to strive to walk in that same love light to be a beacon to this lost and dying world! Thank you for taking me to the place where I first experienced that love, at the foot of the cross. Amen and God bless you!

Love is one that is uncultivated in the body of Christ, everything does start with love, because God is love. I believe love and patience such be together but there is a difference in the two. I Corinthians 13:4-7 explains that love is patient, love is kind, is to say also when we operate in patience, kindness and even all the other fruits of the Spirit it shows our love. Love is not what you say it's what you do.
