COURSE 12 - INSPECTING YOUR SPIRITUAL ROOTS » One negative spiritual root that has chocked the life and stunted the growth of many believers

One major negative spiritual root that has chocked the life and stunted the growth of many believers is rejection. Rejection is a root that must be plucked up. Rejection can enter in the womb from an unwanted pregnancy, from the parent's DNA, from other family members or from society. There are many ways rejection can enter; however, if it is not addressed, it opens the door for other demonic spirits to enter.
If other demonic spirits enter like pride, resentment, anger, rage, fear, doubt, witchcraft and others, it is because forgiveness has not taken place. Many people encounter these demonic spirits that wound the soul because that haven't forgiven the people that rejected them. Forgiveness is a key component to cleaning out soul wounds. The bible says in Mathew 18: 24 that when we do not forgive, that the Lord turns us over to the tormentors. The tormentors are those demonic spirits that affect the mind, intellect, reasoning, emotions and will. And what's even more interesting is that these tormentors never come singly, they come in demonic clusters. Forgiveness helps you to purge and cleanse your soul so that your spirit can occupy that space.
Another way to be cleansed and healed from a spirit of rejection is to accept truth. Truth is the Word of God. Rejection does not come from God. His desire is for us to be accepted, and the bible tells us that we are accepted in the beloved according to Ephesians 1:6. We must accept his love for us so that self-rejection and perceived rejection doesn't take root and distort our thinking.
Deliverance from a spirit of rejection is the will of God. The Lord wants us to be free. For the bible says in John 8:26, To whom the son sets free is free indeed.

2 commentsRejection can be one way of stunting spiritual growth. We learn how to handle it by the way Jesus did. It was Jesus who endured rejection for us, and how he came and showed us the way to handle it. Rejection can be God's way of protecting us from things as well, we have to remember he knows all. the enemy uses this to rob us of our peace and joy.1 Peter 2:4-5 NIV lets us know Jesus is the Chief cornerstone and we are living stones and are being built into a spiritual house to be Holy priesthood acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.

Sandra LatelyPaula you broke this down really well and I agree rejection trips up so many believers. Rejection can come from other ways as well such as one trying to spread the goodness of God and being rejected by unbelievers. Scripture tells us in 1 Thessalonians 4:8 that he who rejects this does not reject man, but God, who has also given us His Holy Spirit. We have to be careful and not carry a spirit of offense since Christ was not received at that time. We know from his word that a seed was still planted and that they are not rejecting the person but they were rejecting Christ. God is able and his Word never comes back void.
