4-2 LIFE OF CHRIST » The names of Christ

Marilyn Keys
Understanding the deity of Christ the anointed one is highly important. We must understand that Jesus the Son of God is God in this earth. For just as John 1:1 says, In the beginning was the word the word was with God and the word was God. This statement lets us know that Jesus the word was in the beginning with God and is God. Why? Because God is His word. The word became flesh and dwelt among us John1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. This word of God does not return to God void. His word is fulfilled in this earth. Even at his baptism John admits he is not worthy of lacing his sandals and does not want to touch him in a baptism pool for the remission of sin. But it must be done to fulfill the word of God in this earth. This served as example to us that we must be baptized. He is the living word of God manifested in this earth for His glory. We must understand that when He the word is spoken as Jehovah Jireh healing takes place. When Jesus saw the people with all their diseases scattered as if they had no shepherd, he had compassion for them and healed them of their diseases. This word of God heals. He served as example of servanthood for he came to serve and not be served. His compassion is an example to the believer of how to treat others. Yes, no man comes to the Father but by him the very word of God, the Son of God in whom the Father is well pleased. Even at his baptism he is identified as the Son of God. Jesus the way the truth and the life. He gives us the road map back to the Father. He is the way. He is the only way. He is the only name by which man can be saved. Acts 4:12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

I agree, we have to understand who Jesus is. As a believer, when have to know who he is so we will know who we are and our benefits. In John 14:12, states, Verily, Verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also: and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father. I think this is why some believers have it so hard because they do not know Jesus for themselves. The word, like you mentioned informs us of Jesus deity, and how he walked the earth. The word also informs us that we can make it through what ever is before us. It tell us in John 16:33, These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.
