Warfare - Synoptic Gospels » Jesus the Wonderful Counselor
As Christian counselors, we must approach our clients with love, just as God is love (1 John 4:7,16 KJV). Jesus' sacrifice of his life for us is a profound demonstration of love that should inspire us to share love with our clients. John 3:16 KJV. As Christian counselors, we must emulate Jesus' compassion and show empathy and care towards our clients, just as the Bible describes in Matthew 14:14 (KJV). As the Bible states in 2 Corinthians 5:18, God has entrusted us with the ministry of reconciliation, just as Jesus reconciled the world. Our role is to help bring healing and wholeness to our hurting clients and whomever we encounter that need our help.
As the Ekklesia called out, we are called to teach the Word and bring deliverance and salvation to the world. Jesus has given us with the same divine authority and power as recorded in Mark 16:17 (KJV). As appointed by Christ (Christos) the Anointed One, we are now the Ambassadors of Christ, commissioned to go throughout the world and tell people about the saving and healing power of Jesus.
Jesus the Wonderful Counselor models how we should guide and support others. By studying His Word and relying on His Spirit, we can learn to compassionately help people through their struggles with sin and suffering.
Is not this the fast that I have chosen? to loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that ye break every yoke? Is it not to deal thy bread to the hungry, and that thou bring the poor that are cast out to thy house?
