COURSE 8 - DEVELOPING A LIFE OF PRAYER & COMMUNION » The type of prayer I believe is most effective

The Thanksgiving prayer is, in my opinion, the most powerful kind of prayer. The bible says in Psalm 100:4 to enter into His gates with Thanksgiving and His courts with praise, to be thankful unto Him and bless His Holy name. First of all, without gratitude, we are unable to even approach His presence. Thanking the Lord expresses our appreciation and thankfulness for all that He has done, is doing, and will do. Expressing gratitude demonstrates our appreciation for what He has done and our refusal to take His mercies for granted.
The second reason why Thanksgiving is the most important type of prayer is it demonstrates our obedience and surrender to the Lord. The bible says in 1 Thessalonians 5:18, that In everything give thanks, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning us. The Lord wants us to express gratitude! Being able to express gratitude in every situation, no matter how wonderful or horrible, is another indication of our growing faith. We are demonstrating our maturity and faith to the Lord if we are able to express gratitude throughout difficult times. Great faith is knowing that All things truly work together for the good of them love that love the Lord and are called according to His purpose, says His word.

2 commentsThank you Paula for acknowledging that giving thanks to God is paramount and I agree. In Psalms 50:14 it says offer to God thanksgiving, and pay your vows to the Most High. We must give all honor and glory to God. He blesses us every day and He is the architect of us all. He is worthy to be praised!

Vanessa HowellPaula, thank you for that gentle reminder of expressing gratitude demonstrates our appreciation for what He has done and our refusal to take His mercies for granted. Cause it can be so easy to fall short in that area and fall into pride which is a sin. Romans 3:23-24 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus. God's love and grace. Amen.
