Effective Prayer

There are different types of ways I can go before the Lord in prayer, and I believe them all to be effective and promising, Matthew 7:7-8 says, ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened. However, I can remember a time my son was battling cancer, and I didn’t believe my faith alone can get me the outcome I had been praying for. Our church family came together in prayer of agreement in his hospital room, and prayed and believed God for healing and Gods will to be done. Matthew 18:19-20 says Again I say to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven. For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them.

Tawana thank you for sharing about the power of praying in agreement for your son. Even when we don't know what to say or how to pray, we can pray in agreement with God. In Luke 6:12 it says, Now it came to pass in those days that He went out to the mountain to pray, and continued all night in prayer to God. I pray that all is well with your son. Amen.

Tawana, thank you for sharing this testimony towards prayer of agreement. You made this prayer type real when you acknowledged that you did not think your faith was enough and you needed the agreement of other believers. This is so powerful, because the Bible says we were created to worship and to be in fellowship. We need each other and sometimes others can get a prayer up better than we can, not because they are better at prayer, but because their faith is stronger.
