Lena Noland
Angels are significant for the church today just as they were for the church then.
I am reminded of several interactions that the men and women of God had with the angels of God in the bible. Looking at the old testament, I am reminded of Abraham's visitation with the angels of God in Genesis 18:9-15. Also in Genesis 17:9-15 when the angel of the Lord visits Hagar, the maid servant of Sarai, who had fled after Sarai dealt with her harshly.
Another time in the Word of God when Daniel prayed in chapter 9:20-27, when Daniel was visited by archangel Gabriel.
Many occasions where God sent messages to warn, to prepare them, and even defend as God did for Hezekiah in 2 Kings 19:35.
Let us not forget the angel of God that came to tell of the good news of Jesus, Emmanuel in Luke 1:28-38.
Again, I believe that the same way the angels came to give warning, defend, and inform to prepare, is the same even unto today.
