Old Testament Warfare » Sins & Opening Demonic Doors
The statement, The enemy is after the minds of God's people I could not agree with that more. Yeilding to sin opens the door for a curse to take hold, allowing the devil to devour God's people. The devil relentlessly seeks to steal, kill, and destroy through any means available. Those who practice sin harbor a carnal mindset, which is hostile to God and defiant of His law. For a carnal mindset/lifestyle leads to death, but a spiritual mindset brings life and peace Romans 8:5-8 (KJV). Jesus will keep those in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on him, Isaiah 26:3 (KJV). Sin opens the door for us to transgress against God's laws. We must submit to God and resist the devil to not perform the deeds of the flesh. Galatians 5:16 (KJV). Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. Engaging in immoral behaviors such as adultery, fornication, idolatry, and witchcraft can open an individual to demonic influences and mental health problems. Whosoever commit sin is a servant of sin. John 8:34 (KJV). As you stated, we must quickly turn from our sins, repent, and seek deliverance, as the Bible instructs. 1 John 1:9 reminds us that if we confess our sins, God is faithful and just to forgive us and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
