In Exodus 17:15 Moses builds an altar and called it Jehovah-Nissi, this is after the Israelites had defeated the Amalekites. This name for God means The Lord is my banner or The Lord my Victory. There will come times where Christians will have to witness to someone, maybe they are dealing with a sickness. We know God as Jehovah Rapha, that means The Lord who heals or The Lord our healer. It is very important and beneficial for Christians to know God personally and know his names, it helps to trust him and it helps to interact with God and for God to interact with us. this leads us to understand God's character and nature.

2 commentsSandra, this is powerful. I felt a quickening in my spirit when I read knowing the names of God helps us to make things personal and helps us to trust Him. I was able to visualize this with my own self. The more people know about me, the personal the relationship. I might be Mrs. Hammond to everyone, but all don't know me by Kris. That's deep.
