COURSE 7 - UNDERSTANDING THE GODHEAD » The Benefit of understanding the meaning of the Hebrew names for God.
Abraham identified with the Lord as his provider. When Abraham was asked to sacrifice his only son Isaac, the Lord provided a ram in the bush to sacrifice. Therefore, Abraham knew God personally to be his provider. When God shows us a part of himself, we gain insight of Him in that area.
Over the years, I’ve come to know God as being my Jehovah Jireh, provider. A couple of times in my life when I was unemployed, I depended on the Lord to provide for me, and He never failed. He always used someone else’s money and resources to supply for me, even when I did not deserve it. John 14:21 says, He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.
