COURSE 5 - NEW TESTAMENT SURVEY » Jesus came to Fulfill the Law

In Isaiah 53:1-12 mentions the suffering of the Messiah, who was coming to bring back the spiritual intention of the law. We do know that Jesus is the Messiah, also I'm reminded of the Garden of Eden when the fallen state of man happened. This where Jesus came to put us back in right standard with God. We had power and dominion over everything in the earth god was with us but then the fallen of man happened, and God was no long in us. The Pharisees and leaders in the Old Testament had changed the law so much that it was more like legalism. When Jesus came on the scene teaching and preaching the gospel he stated in Matthew 5:17 that he did not come to change the law but to fulfill it. Jesus meant that he came to fulfill the spiritual aspects law.

3 commentsSandra, thank you, for so boldly stating, that we do know Jesus is the Messiah! When He began teaching and preaching the gospel as written in the book of Matthew 5:17 Jesus did come to fulfill the law, the spiritual aspects of it, not to change the law! Another scripture you shared, Isaiah 53:1-12 mentioned, that the Messiah was coming to bring back the spiritual intention of the law. What truly stood out to me, the most in your response was, He came to put us back in the right status with God. I am very thankful, just think, that because of His obedience to God the Father, to fulfill the law, we are now joint heirs of /with Jesus Christ! Daughters of the utmost high. King of Glory! Hallelujah!

Hope KhalilSandra thank you for the gentle reminder, we were fallen like you said but Jesus came to set things back in right standard with God. From the Old Testament to the New Testament is God's word it's a reflection of his promise. Revelation 22:14 Blessed is those who do his commandments, that they may have the right to the tree of life and may enter through the gates into the city.

Tawanna TabornSandra, thank you for sharing your thoughts. Like you, I shared in my post how the world was perfect before sin entered it. Once sin entered the world we needed Jesus' sacrifice for us to gain fellowship again with our creator.
