COURSE 4 - OLD TESTAMENT SURVEY » How Do You Know the Bible is Real?

According to 2 Timothy 3:16-17, All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work. I have seen these scriptures live out in my own life. God has used the Bible to teach me when I have questions, reprimand and correct me when I am wrong, and helps me to do what is right and live a moral life. I also know the Bible is real because when I am seeking answers or wisdom and when I pray the Holy Spirit always sends a timely and refreshing word through scripture. There is also evidence of the original scrolls and many prophecies have been fulfilled. I am convinced the Bible is real as I think about our physical make-up and the inner workings of all parts of our bodies. God continues to prove His presence in my life. Romans 10:17 says, faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ. I have faith to believe His word is true as I have received many revelations from it and Hebrews 11:1 tells me Now faith is the certainty of things hoped for, a proof of things not seen.

3 commentsI appreciate your post Kristy, Holy Spirit is our guide. There have been many times in life where I was confused and didn't know what to do and Holy Spirit guided me. Scripture says in John 16:13, that He is the spirit of truth and will guide you into all truth. Truth is freedom, without truth we are in darkness. The Word of God is truth and the Holy Spirit will only give you back the Word of God.

Paula BinghamKristy you are so right when ever we need answers the Holy Spirit is right there to guide us and lead us to truth. Isaiah 55: 6 says Seek the Lord while He may be found, call upon while he is near. Now knowing those are Gods words from the Bible we must know that it is true. Your scripture you used I find comfort knowing that having faith is the certainty of things hoped for a proof of things not seen Hebrew 11:1 Thanks for your post very encouraging.

Tawanna TabornAmen thank you Kristy for your thoughts! I agree that having faith and believing in the Word of true. The Word literally has transformed in my mind and life as well. In Romans 12:2 it states And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. Yes the Bible shows how we are loved by God and also receive it correction which is an act of love. He does that by pruning us as it says in 1John 4:16 and we have known and believed the love that God has for us. God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God, and God in him.
