COURSE 4 - OLD TESTAMENT SURVEY » The bible scriptures are real.

Sandra Lately
The bible is divinely inspired by God, and I believe it is true. I had an experience with a situation in the ladder part of my teen years. I didn't know people could be so evil. I prayed and continue to go to church, as life went on another thing happened at this time, I was in my mid 20s I cried out to God in prayer when I finished, I hear someone say read your bible. I didn't know the Holy Spirit at this time only heard of Holy Spirit. The scripture was Psalm 37:1-8, verse 1 and 2 says Fret not thyself because of evildoers, neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity. For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green herb. These words leaped off the page at me. God was letting me know, trust me don't you do evil but do good, don't be envious because of the unjust gain and prosperity the have because it won't last. God will take care of them, not long after God took care of them and the situation. This is just one thing there are so many more times God's words leaped at me and was manifested in real timing. Joshua 1:1-9 is another one this is the scriptures God inspired me with to come and accept my calling to preach the gospel. I read these scriptures almost every day, until I went to my pastor at that time, and he guided me through.

Sandra thank you for sharing some of the experiences you had that confirm that God's word is living, moving, and breathing! He is the Great I am in all situations. He knows right where we are and what we need! He knew where you were each time you needed that scripture to speak to your spirit, your inner man! Hebrews 4:12 you mentioned that it talks about the word of God being powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. That is true and it will remain to always be true! God bless you and I pray that God will continue to speak to you through His word and that it will speak to every situation that is yet to come! Thank you again for sharing!

I really appreciate what you shared Sandra. The Word of God is living and breathing and sharper than any two-edged sword. In Hebrews 4:12 it talks about the word of God being powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. Holy Spirit is referenced so many times in the Bible and you spoke about how hearing Him speak to you in your spirit to stay the course and allow God to fight your battles. It is the truth written for us to receive instruction and obey. When we do obey, things will work out for our good just like you did.

Sandra thank you for sharing your experience. As we go through trials, I am grateful that God's word is encouraging and relevant to our lives. Like you, I have had some powerful experiences with the scriptures and they have helped to guide me throughout my spiritual journey.
