COURSE 3 - SPIRITUAL GROWTH II » How to Strengthen Your Ability to Hear, Communica , and be Led by the Spirit of God

Hope Khalil
As believers, we should seek God daily, through prayer and the reading of His Word. In doing this, it will strengthen the ability to hear, communicate, and be led by the Spirit of God. The more we spend time, in the presence of God, our inner man, the spirit, contacts the spiritual realm. The strengthening and growth, of the spirit, within our physical body (which houses the spirit) continues which strengthens our relationship and communication with God! I try to think of myself as a spirit being, who has a soul and lives in a body.
When we are born again (that is our spirit, not our physical being) we are made new on the inside, the spirit. Paul said it best in II Corinthians 5:17 (KJV) Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. As these new creatures, we should be led by the spirit! Romans 8:14 (KJV) For as many are led by the spirit of God, they are the sons of God. Thus, He communicates to us through the spirit.
In my own experience, there have been times when being still and quiet was the best way for me to hear and feel the spirit of God and other times I have come before Him with praise and thanksgiving. He is always faithful to be right there. In John 14:16-17, the bible tells us that the comforter, the Holy Spirit will abide with us forever and the Spirit of Truth, (which is the Holy Spirit), will be with us as well as dwell within us!

Hope thank you for sharing your thoughts. I agree we should seek God daily. I can notice the difference in my day and outlook when I take time in His presence versus rushing to complete the task. Like you I agree the more we spend time in His presence the more strengthened we will be. It's like working out to build muscles. We have to put in the time and effort to get results. In this case the results is the sweet communion with our Savior.
