COURSE 3 - SPIRITUAL GROWTH II » Communicating with God

Vanessa Howell
There are many ways to strengthen your ability to hear and communicate with God such as by studying and listening to the Word of God, prayer, and speaking in our heavenly language. The words says in Hebrews 11:6 that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. When we pray and study the Word and seek his face the Holy Spirit responds. When we keep asking and reminding the Lord of his Word and what he said he will do there is an answer for us according to Matthew 7:7 that says ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. Apostle Riley shared it our video lesson that sometimes God would even speak to her through billboards where messages or words are seen that confirmed what God has already said.

We know that the inward man is in our heart and the world looks at the outer man but God examines and speaks to our heart. In Hebrews 4:12 it says the word of God is living and powerful and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. We come to know and understand what God is saying in our spirits. Sometimes there are audible words, he knows how to speak to us but we also have to listen for his voice.

Vanessa yes you are right God does looks at our heart and speaks to our spirit. Romans 8:27 Now he who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the spirit is, because he makes intersession for the saints according to the will of God. Oh yes speaking in our heavenly language, 1 Corinthians 14:2 For he who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men but to God, for no one understands him, however in the spirit he speaks mysteries. Absolutely Vanessa, the Holy Spirit will confirm what He said in many ways (i.e. billboards, a Prophet, a song, a child, a dream, etc...) Scripture says in 2 Corinthians 13 that, In the mouth of two or three witnesses shall every word be established. I can remember one day riding down the highway, God used a billboard to confirm a Word He spoke to me earlier that day. I was actually driving to a place to forgive someone just like Holy Spirit told me, and the billboard said something about forgiveness. I was so thrilled to see that! I knew at that point I was being obedient to God.
