COURSE 2 -STAGES OF GROWTH » Challenges of Being Transformed

Transformation is hard and requires consistency and accountability. It is like shedding your old self when old parts of you want to hang on. The flesh is always warring with the spirit because they are like oil and water. In Romans 7:19 it says for the good that I will to do, I do not do; but the evil I will not to do, that I practice. It takes strength and determination to press through to do the right things. Not staying close to God’s word creates difficulty in the transformation process but I believe the biggest obstacle is listening to voices other than God. There are often times voices and spirits trying to lead you in the wrong direction. Additionally, not changing the circle of people closest to you who continue to indulge in things that are contrary to the word is a hinderance. The journey to be transformed requires a commitment to not give up, to keep pressing towards the mark when we sometimes get off track but to keep our eyes on Jesus who is the author and finisher of our faith.

2 commentsThank you Tawanna! Indeed we must give an account no matter what the world says. There is temptation to go back to do the things we used to but to be transformed we must repent and turn away from the things we used to do. Scripture tells us in Matthew 26:41 Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak. We can overcome by the blood of the lamb if we stay in covenant with Jesus.

Vanessa HowellVanessa, so true transformation does require consistency and accountability, Romans 14:12 So each of us shall give account of himself to God, so we must stay consistent to Gods word. Keeping the right people around you so important I agree because you don’t want to fall back into old habits that pull you from God. That’s why I love the scripture Colossians 4:23 And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not unto men. We are here to please God not man. Love your post.
