COURSE 1 - FOUNDATIONS OF BIBLICAL STUDIES » Word of God and Holy Spirit is our Foundation

Vanessa Howell
Having the Word as our foundation and a relationship with Holy Spirit as our teacher is critical to learning and understanding the things of God. The Holy Spirit dwells on the inside of us to lead and guide us to all truth. 1 John 2:27 There are things we could not possibly know without the unveiling and unction of the the Holy Spirit especially as we seek to dissect the Word of God. Holy Spirit holds our hand to walk a navigate scripture and life, a teacher and Abba Faither because He knows what lies ahead and the path we need to take. Our relationship must be continuous because one scripture can yield multiple revelations depending on situations, timeframes and applications. 2 Timothy 1:14 Staying connected to Holy Spirit that is in us as believers is our partner whom we can trust because he what he shares comes directly from the Father.

Vanessa, thanks for sharing your thoughts. Like you, I agree our relationship with the Holy Spirit is important. I specifically liked how you gave the example that our relationship must be continuous because He helps us to navigate scripture and life, knowing what lies ahead and the path we need to take. This continuous relationship is crucial as we endure and face both the challenges and blessings of life. It is easy to hold on when things are hard, but sometimes our path is not as continuous when life is good.
Sandra Lately
It is very important to have a relationship with Holy Spirit, the scripture in John 14:26 says, The Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things and bring all things, to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. Not only does he teach all things he lives in us, Jhon 14:17 remind us that he is the Spirit of truth, the world cannot receive because they see him not, neither know him, and it goes on to say, that we know him; for he dwells with us and shall be in us. A relationship is very important with Holy Spirit because, Holy Spirit gives us the interpretation of the scriptures which tells us what God the Father wants and tells us about ourselves.
