Throughout scripture the presence of angels is mentioned in both the old and New Testament. Dr. Lamai pointed out in the Ministry of Angels video the word angel is mentioned more than 280 times and 7 times it refers to angels as humans. As Dr. Riley mentioned, when we see the word angel listed, we must know who the text is referring to so that we may know who GOD was speaking of in the text. In the book of Revelations chapter 2 and 3 the angel of the churches in that particular text referred to the pastors or leaders of the churches. The word angel means Messenger. Angels are sent of GOD to deliver messages and perform a certain task from their master. According to their assignment from GOD angels can be assigned to communicate with man, give instructions, release us from bondage and captivity, war on our behalf and bring execution to GOD's judgement. Angels serve many great purposes in the life of the Believer. They are assigned to carry out GOD's duties in the earth. Psalm 91 tells us the Father gave angels charge over us to keep us in all of our ways. They anxiously wait to perform GOD's word and anything that goes against HIS word will hinder their move.
We as the church must make sure we are praying the will of GOD according to HIS word. Psalm 103:1 tells us they are sent to do GOD's pleasure. Angels 'duty is to carry out the will of GOD. Angels are on the earth to assist the Believers as the LORD wills. Believers and Leaders in the church must understand the importance of the purpose of angels and why we need them. They are assigned to be our helpers and personal aides that help us navigate through life and ministry. In the book of Revelation messengers were sent to the messengers of the churches. These were GOD's leaders in the church (Sent Ones) who were called to spread the gospel. Our hearts desire as the church should also be to seek GOD's will for HIS people. If our hearts and minds are towards the Father, we will fall in alignment with HIS will and plan for our lives. As HIS messengers and sent ones in the earth, we should walk in holiness so that we can carry out GOD's will. As Dr. Lamai mentioned, If angels are holy as messengers of GOD, then pastors of churches and leaders of churches ought to also be holy as messengers of GOD.
