Organizational Management is an important principle for the church that often is lacking in ministries today. God is a God of order. I Corinthians 14:40 But all things should be done decently and in order. Organization management in the church helps with order, protocols, setting systems in place, delegating, shared leadership and building capacity in others. We discussed the example with Moses and with Jesus who both had other leaders to set the people in ranks of 100, 50 etc. This was a technique to delegate and manage the people. If we are expecting a harvest of souls as the church, we must not only be spiritually equipped and ready to receive them, but we must have an organized institution or system that is in place to teach, to train, to handle hospitality, handle crisis, counseling, and so many more issues or areas that the church is also responsible for. In most cases the church struggles with the balance of spiritual with the natural nature of the church. Locally and globally, how will our territory be enlarged with a hierarchy or organization flow that can handle the massive. For example, in preparation for a conference, if the system of who oversees advertisement, who is over media, who is serving, who is setting the order of the service, and so forth is not established, then most or all could fall on the pastor to navigate and micromanage. Now, imagine the same church making plans for a global conference or world-wide revival. On a much larger scale, it would definitely need to be a wide and deep organizational chart or management system because of the weightiness of the assignment. Organization management can positively impact the kingdom of God because more can be handled and carried through with an organized system, specific roles and responsibilities and delegation. All using their gifts and natural talents for one goal, but different assignments. (2 Corinthians 4 Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit.5 And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord.6 And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all.) The negative impact is that over empowered organizational management can become too robotic or systematic that it loses it’s spiritual and inter working of the Holy Ghost as the guide and centered of it all. This type of management begins to feel more like a corporation instead of a ministry.
