DISCUSSION QUESTION

"But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him". Hebrews 11:6 reveals how faith is so important that it is impossible to please God without it. What would you say is the greatest area, among believers, where faith is lacking?

COURSE 7 - UNDERSTANDING THE GODHEAD » Understanding the Godhead

Jayla Parks
Understanding the Hebrew names of Godâ€like Yahweh (I AM, meaning He's eternal), Elohim (mighty creator), El Shaddai (God Almighty), Adonai (Lord and Master), and Abba (Father)â€helps Christians today build a deeper, more personal relationship with God because these names aren't just labels but reveal His true character and power, much like how ancient Hebrews saw names as a person's essence (think Abram becoming Abraham, father of many in Genesis 17:5). This knowledge makes prayer more closer, letting you call on specific traits like Jehovah Jireh (The Lord Provides from Genesis 22:14) during tough times for trust and peace, as Psalm 9:10 says, Those who know your name trust in you. Making Scripture come alive and easier to grasp without confusion, as 2 Timothy 2:15 urges us to do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth. In hard times, names like Jehovah Rapha (The Lord Heals from Exodus 15:26: I am the Lord, your healer) or Jehovah Nissi (The Lord My Banner from Exodus 17:15) give real hope and strength, reminding us God doesn't change, as Hebrews 13:8 declares, Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever. It levels up worship and sharing faith with bold declarations that fight spiritual battles, as Ephesians 6:12 explains, For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against... spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places, Overall, it turns little belief into life-changing growth, pushing us to really know God like Hosea 6:3 urges, Let us know; let us press on to know the Lord, through simple tools like the Bible.

Yes, those who know your name trust in you. It's more personable, an extra layer of insight and power. It's very beneficial to the believer.
