"But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him". Hebrews 11:6 reveals how faith is so important that it is impossible to please God without it. What would you say is the greatest area, among believers, where faith is lacking?

When a believer moves too quickly into the second dimension of anointing operating in spiritual gifts and ministry without first being rooted in the first dimension of intimacy and fellowship with God, the results can be damaging. One of the biggest consequences is spiritual burnout or pride. Jesus taught the importance of remaining connected to Him first before doing any work: I am the vine, you are the branches: He that abides in me, and I in him, the same brings forth much fruit: for without me you can do nothing (John 15:5, KJV). Without that foundation of abiding in Christ, the believer may start to depend on their gift instead of God’s presence, and over time, this can lead to exhaustion or even spiritual deception. Another consequence is the lack of true spiritual maturity, which can harm both the believer and the people they serve. Paul reminds us, Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal (1 Corinthians 13:1, KJV). In other words, spiritual gifts without love and a close walk with God can become empty noise. The ministry can turn into performance instead of genuine service when the foundation of knowing God is weak. That is why Scripture encourages us to grow first in our personal relationship with Him: But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever. Amen (2 Peter 3:18, KJV). If we skip this growth, the believer may appear powerful outwardly, but inwardly they remain weak, unprepared to endure trials, and vulnerable to falling away.
Hope, thank you for sharing your thoughts. Your post is spot on. I love how you say The ministry can turn into performance instead of genuine service when the foundation of knowing God is weak. This is a powerful statement and is evident today with many spiritual leaders. They are performing and not operating in the holy spirit. As believers we must make sure with have the foundational operations within the first dimension.
Hope we was thinking and speaking on the same thing. We must stay connected to God at all times. Even when we get things wrong at some point we must be mature enough to repent and ask the Holy Spirit to lead us and not ourselves.
Hope, I like how you put this together. As believers we can't do anything outside an intimate relationship with our heavenly Father Abba, we must be in Christ and have the Holy Spirit as our comforter, teacher, and our guide into all things. we have to also be rooted in the word, way, and will of God. In Proverbs 3:5-7 it says, Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; And lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, And he shall direct thy paths. Be not wise in thine own eyes: Fear the LORD and depart from evil.
Hope, I enjoyed reading this post. You are so right! If a person is not rooted in Christ, pride can definitely take a foothold because the person is operating in flesh. Nebuchadnezzar is good example of someone in position of leadership with pride. Nebuchadnezzar had no deep relationship with God, and it led to his downfall. The bible says in Proverbs 16:18 that pride comes before destruction and a haughty spirit before a fall. Nebuchadnezzar’s pride was prominently displayed as he boasted about his power and achievements. He failed to recognize that his kingdom and success were ultimately given by God. Being rooted in God through constant prayer and fasting helps us to recognize that our ultimate dependency is on Christ and not ourselves. Scripture says in John 15: 5 that He is the vine; we are the branches. Whoever abides in Him and He in us, we will bear much fruit, for apart from Him we can do nothing.
