DISCUSSION QUESTION

"But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him". Hebrews 11:6 reveals how faith is so important that it is impossible to please God without it. What would you say is the greatest area, among believers, where faith is lacking?

COURSE 1 - FOUNDATIONS OF BIBLICAL STUDIES » Discussion Post

Alicia Lewis
When it comes to Holy Spirit in concert with studying the word of God, I first believe they are inseparable. There has to be a foundation of Holy Spirit and a discipline to study if there is not surely, it's a crack in the framework. We must place a high value on the application of Holy Spirit and gleaning of scriptures. Holy Spirit is the spirit of truth, and he is a guide as read in John 16:13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth. He guides us in the word by helping us to digest internalize study and with effectiveness and power teach the word. But we need Holy Spirit in order to rightly divide the word according to 2 Tim 2:5. Relationship is key when digging into and interpreting scriptures because you must know his voice. Many voices of the soul will take a scripture and pull you in offense and justify it. But when you are pure and your relationship with Holy Spirit has filtered how you eat the word that same scripture that brought offense will bring Zoey life and set you free. I believe this last scripture will tie my thoughts together 1 Corinthians 2:10-13 (Amp) For God has unveiled them and revealed them to us through the [Holy] Spirit; for the Spirit searches all things [diligently], even [sounding and measuring] the [profound] depths of God [the divine counsels and things far beyond human understanding]. 11For what person knows the thoughts and motives of a man except the mans spirit within him? So also no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God. 12Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the [Holy] Spirit who is from God, so that we may know and understand the [wonderful] things freely given to us by God. 13We also speak of these things, not in words taught or supplied by human wisdom, but in those taught by the Spirit, combining and interpreting spiritual thoughts with spiritual words [for those being guided by the Holy Spirit].

Amen very factual what was written by you and I agree there should not be a separation between you the holy Spirit and the Word of God because he is the word he is the one who with was with God and help create the heaven and earth.
