DISCUSSION QUESTION

"But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him". Hebrews 11:6 reveals how faith is so important that it is impossible to please God without it. What would you say is the greatest area, among believers, where faith is lacking?

COURSE 1 - FOUNDATIONS OF BIBLICAL STUDIES » Welcome Students!

Dr. Doris Riley
I am so excited about this first week of class and this discussion about the Holy Spirit! A relationship with Holy Spirit is essential to believers. The scripture says in John 14:26 that the Holy Spirit will teach us all things and bring all things to our remembrance. Divine interpretation of the Word has always rested with individuals who operate under the leadership of Holy Spirit. Along with relationship, we must be students of the Word. For some, reading the bible is not relevant to their life as a believer. However, the relevancy for interpreting and understanding only comes from Jesus Christ (the Living Word) and is revealed by Holy Spirit. Our communion with the Holy Spirit gives us an advantage over the world. The bible says in I Corinthians 2:10 that Holy Spirit reveals all things. My prayer is that your relationship will grow stronger and deeper as we dig into the Word over the coming weeks. This is only the beginning!
