"But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him". Hebrews 11:6 reveals how faith is so important that it is impossible to please God without it. What would you say is the greatest area, among believers, where faith is lacking?

What I believe to be a major ethical hinderance in the church that causes ministers of the gospel to look and behave like the world is allowing homosexuality in the pulpit and in worship. I understand that no sin is greater than the other; however, when homosexuality is flaunted in the church with no shame or conviction, it sends a signal to the world that it's acceptable and God is okay with it. That lifestyle is not okay with God, neither is fornication or adultery. The bible says in Leviticus 18:22, You shall not lie with a male as with a woman; it is an abomination. This scripture leaves no room for gray lines; however, it has become acceptable in the church. It has gotten to the point now that persecution comes to whoever speaks out against it, like it not written in the Word of God. God loves everyone, but He does not like sinful actions.
We must like the Apostle Paul, stand up and address this issue in the church. It is very confusing to new converts and pollutes the church. If we are not careful what message we put out there, we will become a hinderance and a stumbling block to new believers. Scripture says in 1 Corinthian 8:1; For if any man see thee which hast knowledge sit at meat in the idol's temple, shall not the conscience of him which is weak be emboldened to eat those things which are offered to idols; And through thy knowledge shall the weak brother perish, for whom Christ died? But when ye sin so against the brethren, and wound their weak conscience, ye sin against Christ.
Yes Paula, you have really pointed out hinderance in the church today, this is so widespread, and it seems as though a lot of Ministers and their church is accepting homosexuality this is not ok at all. This reminds me of the scripture in Acts 17:30-31 Paul was talking to the people of Thessalonica it really is a mixed group they were doing a lot of idolatry. He was targeting the people in the synagogue who started doing the things of the world. He warned them to repent.
This is a topic so many churches and ministers dare not touch or talk about. I am so proud of you and the conviction you have concerning guarding the pulpit! When you stated, when homosexuality is flaunted in the church with no shame or conviction, it sends a signal to the world that it's acceptable and God is okay with it. It made me dig deeper into finding out more about conviction. This is what I found, conviction comes from the Holy Spirit, whom we grieve with our sin (John 16:8; Ephesians 4:30) and condemnation comes from the devil who will do anything to drive a wedge between people and God (Revelation 12:10). This is exactly what the enemy wants is to drive the wedge using the Word of God and twisting it to conform and fit certain lifestyles, such as Homosexuality. In this world we live in, people want everyone to be accepted in the church, but to what extent and cost? As a church, we can love and help those who need direction in this area of his or her life. Explaining and teaching through the power of the Holy Spirit, conviction, to those living in this bondage. Convictions brings one into the atmosphere that says trust God, Repent, and run to Jesus. With that said, as you shared with a strong conviction and passion, ministers must guard the pulpit! The pulpit is reserved for those who are consecrated and living a lifestyle pleasing unto God! Until a person gets to the root of his or her sin, especially homosexuality, he or she needs to be I the pew and not behind the pulpit. Christ reminded Peter of his three denials in John 21:15-17, but the goal was to restore him and not condemn him. Conviction is the lighted pathway for sinners to come to Jesus, in all of their sin. I pray that the Holy Spirit breaks the chains of Homosexuality off and replaces it with the banner of Christ!
