DISCUSSION QUESTION

"But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him". Hebrews 11:6 reveals how faith is so important that it is impossible to please God without it. What would you say is the greatest area, among believers, where faith is lacking?

COURSE 10 - PRINCIPLES OF FAITH » Faith

Tawanna Taborn
What do you believe is the greatest area, among believers, where faith is lacking? When I evaluate my faith life, I can sometimes fall short when things don’t happen as fast as I would like them too so I would suggest the same for others. I am always reminded Ecclesiastes 3:1 says to everything is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven. Ecclesiastes 3:11 He has made everything in its time. Also, he has put eternity in their hearts, except that no one can find out the work that God does from beginning to end. However, when I start to feel that I am moving with an impatient spirit I am reminded of Luke 17:6 So the Lord said, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you can say to this mulberry tree, Be pulled up by the roots and be planted in the sea, and it would obey you.

Tawanna, I'm right there with you girl! When things don't happen in the time span that I need for it to, I get very impatient! I have to keep reminding myself to be anxious for nothing, but in ALL things through prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let my request be made known and the PEACE of God that passes all understanding will guard my heart and mind in Christ Jesus. Did you know that worry was a sin? Worry is something I have to give to God on a consistent basis, but I'm so glad he's merciful. Worry actually comes from fear and doubt. I am determined to overcome fear and live in the promises of God!!!

I have dealt with impatience and when Holy Spirit brings it to my attention, I quickly agree and repent and ask for forgiveness. I then ask for deliverance and healing in this area, because the scripture that came to me is in Philippians 4:6-7 says in the NIV, Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
