"But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him". Hebrews 11:6 reveals how faith is so important that it is impossible to please God without it. What would you say is the greatest area, among believers, where faith is lacking?

It is so true that the 21st Century church overly emphasizes titles and positions. Unfortunately, there is an overwhelming number of self-appointed positions without the fruits to follow, without the oil and without God. I was introduced to a young man about a year or so ago. He was introduced as Apostle.. so and so. I said, so where is your ministry? Oh, I do not have one. So, the conversation continued a lot longer than it should have. Only to find out that he had given himself the title and a few other titles, but there was nothing being yielded. No people then, no people now, he was just a Facebook Apostle and prophet as far as I could tell. Sooner or later, it will show. My point is that something in their lives should be evident. Something should be producing from the calling of God on their lives. (Luke 6:44 For every tree is known by its fruit..)The danger in self-promotion is that its just a title without anointing, without the grace to walk in it and without the spirit of God operating. There will be an obvious on-going opposition. Most that self-appoint will not be able to sustain the work. They lack the life of God, and they will eventually have to shut the doors or take a seat because it will not last if God has not anointed and appointed the call. I Corinthians 7:20 Let every man abide in the same calling wherein he was called. It is God who calls according to 2 Timothy 1:9 Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace⦠We read and heard throughout the teaching of examples that were man appointed such as Saul in comparison to God appointed such as David (I Samuel 16:1) and Moses. Saul was the people's choice (I Samuel 8:5). They wanted their own king. So, Saul was anointed with a viol of oil to be the people's king. While David was chosen from the back field, hand picked by God and anointed with a horn of oil to be king because he was a man after God's own heart. We see that God is with David in battles, against giants even against a bear and lion. It's the anointing that makes the difference!
These days it is so easy to set up a Facebook page, release a word and call yourself a Prophet or Apostle. You can go online and pay as little as $30 to be a minister and some sites will even ordain you for free. It cheapens the call. And the comment you made about self-promotion being a title without anointing is so true. The sad part is that most of these people are gifted, but without training and waiting on the Lord, its just a gift and title. This post was all truth!
