"But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him". Hebrews 11:6 reveals how faith is so important that it is impossible to please God without it. What would you say is the greatest area, among believers, where faith is lacking?

The state of the body of Christ, as of today, can seem like a downward spiral because of this very issue. Earlier this week, I saw a video on social media where a former Apostle's aide is unleashing all of her hurt from what she said she experienced under his leadership. Whether her assertions are true or not, it made me consider when we are called, but maybe not fully equipped. It is a dangerous thing to walk into a call simply because you can preach or because you have a following or are anointed. A major danger is that you can injure the sheep. Another dangerous effect is that you cause a reproach on the kingdom because you stand in the way of the sinner as it says in Psalm 1:1. If a person is self-appointed, but not commissioned by God, they are actively in the sin of disobedience and under the influence of pride, divination, blindness or error. The Lord has no responsibility to keep or cover that person in their soulish decisions. He is full of mercy, but Romans 6:1 says we should not continue in sin. One of the most disheartening effects of being man appointed, specifically, is that you miss the treasure. II Corinthians 4:7 says we have treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us. Man-appointed leaders are full of clay because they did not wait for the treasure to be unearthed in them. Instead, they depend on mankind to build them a tower to heaven. This is a dangerous ignorance because many people fall into the trap of listening to their leader over Holy Spirit. My prayer is that we learn, grow and be cultivated so that our appointments will remain orchestrated and ordained by God.
Great Post! Totally agree with your comment, A major danger is that you can injure the sheep. Being self-appointed, is not anointed, Yes Minister! It's dangerous, cause in her mind, she's doing the right thing. Hosea 4:6 ESV : My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: God's calls us, not man. Proverbs 1:7 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge: fools despite wisdom and instruction.
Yes! I understand that the wait can be frustrating especially if other people are pulling on you to walk into the call (man-appointed). Also, like you said, if a person is hasty, it's an open door for premature decisions (self-appointed). The gifts still have to be cultivated. And you are correct, we cannot go ahead of God. Like the man you referenced in your initial post, he probably is gifted and anointed, but the commissioning and appointment has to be in place to sustain any person.
Wow... I agree with your statement that It is a dangerous thing to walk into a call simply because you can preach or because you have a following or are anointed. A major danger is that you can injure the sheep. My thoughts as well. It becomes a stumblingblock when people self-appoint, but their lives are not lining up with the call. I also love your reference to II Corinthians 4:7, it is the excellency of God and not of us... People can get hasty and have a zeal of God. Romans 10:2 For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge. For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their own... It is better to allow God to establish us and our way than getting ahead of God or moving without God.
