"But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him". Hebrews 11:6 reveals how faith is so important that it is impossible to please God without it. What would you say is the greatest area, among believers, where faith is lacking?

Knowing the Hebrew names of God helps people understand who God is. This is beneficial because then God’s character becomes relevant and specific versus general. For example, we might pray God bless me today. This is a general prayer, but when I know who God is and what the word says about Him, I can say Jehovah Jireh, my provider, bless me today. Same prayer, but now I have added some authority by knowing and speaking exactly who God is.
Hebrew was the first language of the bible along with some Aramaic and the different names used to refer to God are key in how to access to Him in our fervent prayers. The Hebrew names for God are quite descriptive and comprehensive. In Genesis 1:1 the name Elohim is the first title used to describe God and his power and might. From the video teaching with Dr. Riley we learned that Elohim means Creator. God is not one dimensional, he is all inclusive of everything that exists today. In John ...
After listening to the lecture my understanding is our pray life is needed however our Father gave us specific names we can call on when going to him in pray. So, I would say the benefit of knowing the Hebrew names helps in gaining access to the Father according to the need I am asking. Exodus 3:14 And God said to Moses, I AM WHO I AM. And he said, Thus you shall say to the children of Israel, I AM has sent me to you. The name IAM THAT IAM! Whatever you may need is exactly what I am.
The word God is found throughout the bible, but the Lord reveals himself more personally through the names in which He introduces Himself in scripture. God wants to know him intimately. David identified God as Jehovah Rohi, meaning the Lord is my Shephard. In the 23rd Psalms, David identifies with God as His shepherd and therefore is able to expound on His relationship with Him as a Shephard.
Abraham identified with the Lord as his provider. When Abraham was asked to sacrifice his only...
The benefit Christians have today, in understanding the meaning of God Hebrew name is knowing who God is, in all His functions! From the very beginning, God was and has always been the first person of the Godhead. There is only one God, which is God Jehovah the Father of Israel. The Hebrew meaning of Av means father, parent, head, chief, advisor, and counselor. All of God names reveal His attributes, character, and nature. He is so amazing, complex, and awesome, that one name...
In Exodus 17:15 Moses builds an altar and called it Jehovah-Nissi, this is after the Israelites had defeated the Amalekites. This name for God means The Lord is my banner or The Lord my Victory. There will come times where Christians will have to witness to someone, maybe they are dealing with a sickness. We know God as Jehovah Rapha, that means The Lord who heals or The Lord our healer. It is very important and beneficial for Christians to know God personally and know his names, it helps to tr...
