Peter's Preparation & Transformation
Acts 2:36 is a pivotal statement in Peter’s sermon. I believe Peter is TRULY aware that Jesus was the Messiah by the signs and wonders that He has witnessed. Although He walked with God as a Disciple, I believe the difference came when he physically saw Jesus die on the cross and then physically saw Him appear again. That cannot be explained; nor can that be coincidence or magic. Jesus performed many miracles, but one may question the authenticity or validity of them. The death, burial, and resurrection cannot be explained. It is just a matter of awe. Peter referenced David using Psalm 16:10, He was not left in the grave. His body did not rot. This was a direct reference to what He had witnessed with the resurrection of Jesus. It was a testament of God’s grace and the working of the Holy Spirit. Even after Peter’s low moments he was still reaffirmed by God in John 21:15-17.

Kristy I so appreciate your insight and Peter and his transformation. By painting the pictures on what Peter experience with Jesus showing a progression, even though he faltered God gave him a way of escape. In 1 Corinthian 10:13b it says but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it. The Holy Spirit will do that for us as well by working on our hearts, ministering to our spirits and moving us to repentance which is what I believe happened with Peter.

Kristy, you took me on a journey with your response. You helped me to truly see through the eyes of Peter. To think that He witnessed Jesus's work on this earth until the very end as well as the resurrection! Psalm 16:10 as you referenced, He did not stay in the tomb /grave, He rose again! What a traumatic event, the death of Jesus and yet 3 days later what a fantastic event! One that had to have impacted Peter's heart, mind and ministry. Throughout Christ's ministry, Jesus kept Peter close to Him to teach and groom Peter in ministerial leadership. So, Peter saw Jesus fulfilling His purpose for God the Father, and as the Holy Spirit came upon Peter, he too could fulfill His purpose on this earth, to carry on the message of Jesus Christ, John 3:16 God's forgiveness and salvation through the shed blood of Jesus for those who will believe and ask Him into their heart will live forever!God bless you and thank you for the insight of Peter's journey.
