Marriage & Family Counseling 8-1 » The Negative Impact of the Evolution of Marriage Today.
King James Version
18 And the Lord God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him.
In today’s society Marriage has become less sacred and more rebellious. Most People marry who they want. Instead of genuinely inviting God into the equation. Culture has really rejected morals in Marriages. Promoting same sex marriages and household’s. Influencing children to do the same presenting this tainted picture of family to them through the eyes of homosexuality and promiscuity. The Entertainment Industry promotes a lot of riotous living and again sexual promiscuity. Which has led many to look at marriage as a option or not even a option at all. Divorce rates :
1. Current U.S. Divorce Rate. As of 2024, the U.S. divorce rate remains between 40% to 50% for first marriages, though this number has been steadily declining over the past few decades.Oct 7, 2024

I believe it maybe 50/50 when it comes to who may or may not be willing to have premarital counseling in the church. There are some that want to strive to get it right the first time. Then there are couples in the body of Christ that only one party in the relationship agrees with premarital counseling. It depends on the relationship.
As far as the divorce rate, I believe it soars like it does because we are in the times when people are lovers of themselves and offended on everyside. A narsasistic generation that wants what self wants or else.
