COURSE 9 - HEARING THE VOICE OF GOD » Hearing and Obeying God

Kristy Hammond
It is important for Christians to hear and obey the voice of God. God speaks through His word and through His people. Having the ability to hear and obey demonstrates a relationship with God. I Samuel 15:22 says Does the Lord have as much delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices as in obeying the voice of the Lord? Behold, to obey is better than a sacrifice, and to pay attention is better than the fat rams. God delights in obedience and as Christians we should delight in pleasing God. Psalm 37:4 says delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart. Why wouldn't you want God's best or His plan for your life. When we listen, hear, and obey we have the protection of God on our life. Proverb 3:5-6 says, truat in the Lord with all your heart and lean not to your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.

Kristy I agree that hearing and obeying the voice of God has much to do with having a strong relationship with God. In
1 Thessalonians 4:1-2 says finally then, brethren, we urge and exhort in the Lord Jesus that you should abound more and more, just as you received from us how you ought to walk and to please God; for you know what commandments we gave you through the Lord Jesus. We should want to please God and in that we are able to deepen our relationship with God. This is the most important relationship to have because He will lead you and guide you to all truth and the truth shall make us free.
Tawanna Taborn
Kristy yes this is so true God delights in obedience and as Christians we should delight in pleasing God. Listening, hearing, and obeying I have the protection of God on my life that is a true gift and gentle reminder thank you. Proverbs 16:20 He who heeds the word wisely will find good, and whoever trust in the Lord, happy is he.
