COURSE 9 - HEARING THE VOICE OF GOD » Hearing and Obeying God's Voice

Sandra Lately
The bible is full of examples of positive results of those who have obeyed God's voice. In Joshua 1:1-11, Joshua receives instructions from God to lead the people over the Jordan even the children of Israel. Joshua obeys God and commands the officers tell the people to prepare to go over the Jordan, they went in and fought for the land that was promised to their forefathers which they were very successful. It is very important for Christians to hear and obey the voice of God. When we do, we are following the original plan of God, being led by Holy Spirit, having wisdom, discernment which is intimacy with God. Also understanding of his word, way, will, and plans for our lives.
We also learned in our lesson that disobedience to the voice of God has consequences. Romans 1:28 lets us know that God will turn you over to a reprobated mind. These people knew to do right but did not heed to the things of God. Here in Romans 1 these people were knowingly in sin and would not change so God turned them over to a reprobated mind, which is a mind that has become so tarnished and hardened that it can no longer think clearly or separate good from evil. They who knowing the judgement of God for this evil doing and they changed not.

Sandra, love your post! It is a very dangerous thing to know to do right and still don't do it. There have been times in my life when I was purposefully disobedient; however, I had to face the consequences. The Word of God says in 1 Samuel 15:22 that Obedience is better than sacrifice. God's rules are to protect us and keep us safe, not harm us. Obeying will yield the best result in our lives. In addition, God blesses all those hear His voice and obeys him.

Sandra,
I love how you started off your response in such a positive light or way! Also, the way you acknowledged the importance of obeying the voice of God! I agree that it is the original plan of God, to lead us and guide us, by the help of the Holy Spirit as you said beautifully! We would not be able to commune with God unless we are in a place of obedience in which we do by listening to His voice and heeding God's word as you referenced from Romans 1:28! God bless you for not sugar coating your response! It is what it is! God bless you and the call on your life!

Sandra love it, John 8:47 says He who is of God hears God’s words; therefore, you do not hear, because you are not of God, So I can understand your statement about these people knew to do right but did not heed to the things of God. Because they choose to do what they wanted to do. When we are not obedient when God is speaking, we dull of hearing. Hebrew 5:11 says of whom we have much to say, and hard to explain, since you have become dull of hearing.
