Writing Basics » The Importance of Writing & Grammar

Shakena Standard
Since we've entered into the information age of technology I agree that communication has changed a lot. As ministers of the gospel it is very important to obtain as much knowledge as possible. You never stop learning of the things of Christ. We have to communicate in a way that grabs the attention of the people. Understanding grammar and writing is important especially when it comes to writing sermons. Making sure we don't have run on sentences and also that we are spelling correctly. Using the right punctuation and all. As a minister of the gospel it is my duty to pronounce words correctly, read with enthusiasm and not sound like I have no education. We want the people in the audience to grasp every word we say, otherwise their won't be as clear understanding of the message. It is important for us to learn all we can about writing and grammar. The word tells us that whatever we do work at it with all of our heart as working for the lord (Colossians 3:23). When writing and speaking we must do it as if the Lord was sitting right in the audience in the flesh.
