Advanced NT Survey 5-1 » The Coming Messiah, Jesus Christ

The synoptic gospel are sacred texts that point to Jesus as the awaited Messiah through various scriptural instances. For example, in Matthew 1:21, an angel appears to Joseph in a dream and told him that Mary would conceive a child by the Holy spirit and he was to name him Jesus and told him that Jesus would save people from their sins. This fulfills the prophecy in Isaiah 7:14 about a virgin giving birth to a son named Immanuel. Jesus' birth aligns with this prophecy, emphasizing his divine nature as the Messiah. Another instance is in Luke 4:18-19, where Jesus reads from Isaiah, proclaiming his mission to bring good news, freedom, sight, and liberation. These instances, along with others, provide strong evidence of Jesus as the Messiah, highlighting his divine purpose, fulfillment of prophecy, and mission to bring salvation.

1 commentsYes, I definitely agree that the scriptures you mentioned directly align with the book of Isaiah. It is so amazing that God allowed there to be a long distance between the prophecy and the fulfilment. Amazing God!
