DISCUSSION QUESTION

"But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him". Hebrews 11:6 reveals how faith is so important that it is impossible to please God without it. What would you say is the greatest area, among believers, where faith is lacking?

COURSE 10 - PRINCIPLES OF FAITH » Through Personal Trials

Kiah Gilmore
I find that often times believers have resounding faith in the Miracle Worker when trying to help others through trying times, rather than themselves. When faced with trial, hope dwindles, the mind worries, faith loosens, and so forth. All the foundation and trust proclaimed by mouth is often not found in the heart. We tend to have a why me stance as if our loyalty to God exempts us from hardships in this life. But, let scripture serve as a reminder.

Isaiah 43:2 said that when we passed through waters, God will be with us. Although the waters may get rough, He will not let it overtake us. In a fire, it will not touch us. It doesn't say we will be engulfed, or drown in His presence, but we will be resilient, preserved. And in trial, remember Philippians 4:6-7, the peace of God, above all understanding, will guard our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.
